Reward for frontrunners

Skylark growers receive interest discount from Rabobank

Arable farmers who grow under the Skylark label will be eligible for the Rabobank Impact Loan as of April 17. With the Impact Loan, sustainable entrepreneurs receive an interest discount on new investments.

From November 2015, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank, 2 million euros has been made available for the Impact Loan in 150 tranches. This is allocated almost entirely to the projects of pioneers in the field of sustainability. A third installment is expected soon.

interest discount as a reward for sustainable leaders

43 quality marks
Rabobank has selected a total of 43 quality marks that qualify. 'The food and agri sector has a relatively large number of quality marks', says Rabobank product specialist Rolf Heinst. The certificate of skylark has also been included in that selection as of April 17.

Rabobank wants to reward sustainable frontrunners with this. The interest discount on the loan is a maximum of 1,1 percent, depending on the fixed-rate period and the term of the loan. The loan only applies to new investments.

Working demonstrably more sustainably
Who a Impact loan wants to close, must meet the regular requirements and also demonstrably work more sustainably. It should be noted that the loan cannot be used for agricultural land or commercial real estate. That is the policy of the European Investment Bank (EIB), which facilitates the Impact Loan.

congratulations skylark participants, a nice deal for you. I wonder if this will again cause a large influx, just like the Cosun scheme at the time.

Not good, rewarding farmers without vision to talk to each other. Now the banks are getting money.... I dutifully show all my certificates but I can't get a tenth off yet. What nonsense this. Long live the job creation called certification.

It took a while to find the requirements for the growers on the website of this bird club. It's all nicely decorated, but it's not more like a study group. Growers who are not members of this club can still sit in study groups or attend meetings. They are not taken seriously by the bank now.

So we as a non-skylark cannot be a frontrunner and not grow sustainably, according to the Rabo! , bad development! , Everyone is trying to do their best!, so don't discriminate!

They make no distinction, we will soon be allowed to pay all money without a discount!

The Rabobank gives the growers the well-known push into the abyss, because as soon as a certificate loses its value, you pay the full interest rate with 100% profit margin for the bank. Borrowing money for these supposedly sustainable things is in any case the beginning of the downfall, one cannot be jealous of it.

I'm curious how many growers are going to participate in it for a year or two and then stop skylark again, and how the bank plans to cover that. Whether you are for or against, this will provoke fraud, but Rabo has experience with that (it seems Volkswagen)

do you know how much margin they take on a financing. that's just theft. so there is still room for negotiation

I don't show any certificates at all, all I show is the logo of another bank... that works.

At another bank you cannot get a 1,1% discount, then you are already almost below zero. I think it's a surcharge first, then a discount off. And besides, what else should you borrow money for than to buy land. You have to be able to pay for machines, production rights and not too large buildings from the current account.

Maybe an idea to switch banks, if you can't get the best loan by handing over good figures, but by working with 1 or another club.

Skylark label doesn't help, I think Rabobank should just give a loan to good companies. not on a label.
