Due to tensions in Asia

29 August 2017 - Esther de Snoo - 2 comments

The euro is worth more than $29 for the first time in a long time on Tuesday morning, August 1,20. That happened an hour after North Korea fired a missile at Japan. This is reported by BusinessInsider.

The above level was last reached in January 2015. In addition to tensions in Asia, which also fueled a run in safe investments, investors are also looking ahead to the European Central Bank (ECB) meeting. The ECB may announce changes to its monetary policy.

De euro rose Tuesday, August 29 to a provisional high of $1,2033. It was the third day in a row that the single currency gained in value.
