Ceiling for removal of asbestos roofs reached

2 November 2018 - Kimberly Bakker - 2 comments

The subsidy budget of €75 million for the 'Remove asbestos roofs' subsidy scheme has been reached. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) announces this on its website.

"The number of applications rose sharply in recent months, so that the budget was exhausted very quickly," RVO.nl said. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has announced that it will no longer make a new budget available for this subsidy scheme.

The arrangement was temporary. It would be in effect from January 1, 2016 through 2019, or until available budget is exhausted. The latter is now the case.

Stimulating removal of asbestos roofs
The aim of the scheme is to encourage the removal of many asbestos roofs. This is important because of the ban on asbestos roofs, which will come into effect from late 2024 will apply.

Temporary character? Cook's quarter was also temporary. Otherwise, wait until Dec 2024

If the government is in such a terrible hurry, they will still have to come up with money. Otherwise wait until 2024 - it will be postponed again after that ....
