News Board change

Wim Bens is the new chairman of ZLTO

20 December 2018 - Tim Roetman

Wim Bens is the new chairman of ZLTO as of 1 February 2019. He is taking over the duties of Hans Huijbers, who has resigned after 9 years.

Huijbers made in October already known that he would resign from his position. He said at the time that he thought it was a suitable time to hand over the presidency.

The new chairman
Bens, 58, has been chairman of the board at Rabobank in Tilburg for almost 7 years. Before that, he worked for 8 years on the supervisory board of a housing association. Bens was involved in the Agro & Co knowledge center for many years, but has no other background as a farmer. However, according to ZLTO, that is not a problem.

Huijbers agrees with that statement. "In its history, ZLTO has often had a non-farmer as a director and those are also phases that we look back on with pleasure. The board has every confidence in Bens because of his driven personality and passion for the sector. I share that confidence."
