Definitive APK duty for fast tractors

5 April 2019 - Anne Jan Doorn - 12 comments

Agricultural vehicles in the Netherlands that can travel 40 kilometers per hour or faster are required to undergo an APK inspection from this autumn. In addition to the registration obligation with the RDW, the tractors must also have a registration plate from that moment on.

The above will be made by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management on Friday 5 April known† Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen's proposal on an amendment to the Road Traffic Act has been approved by the Council of Ministers. The content of this proposal was finalized at the end of 2018 already presented.

Maximum speed increased
The introduction of the MOT obligation has been combined with an increase in the maximum speed for agricultural vehicles. The maximum speed goes from 25 kilometers per hour to 40 kilometers per hour. This only applies if the construction of these vehicles allows it.

Limit the tractor to 30 km per hour?
peter 6 April 2019
where should you get it checked? price? which conditions must all be met?
Drent 6 April 2019
Think that everyone always denied that if there was a license plate, no MOT followed, but politics is once again unreliable

@Drent, do you still believe in Santa Claus? Of course there will be an MOT, rightly so when I see what kind of gang sometimes drives along the road.

if all tractors that can drive 40 now also have to be inspected, that's a huge cost item
At first it was intended that only the tractors that drive faster than 40 had to be inspected, but now it suddenly looks very different

Will come up with something again. Let's limit it to 39,5 something like that.

yes Zeeland, that's exactly the intention, chasing the ordinary hard-working man at costs in order to keep the economy going a bit, how long have they not been working on that?

Then you should inspect the older tractors, that is usually the most wrong. And don't forget that an inspection is just a snapshot
shoemakers1 7 April 2019
an inspection does not entitle you to anything, it is only intended to give the inspection stations a well-stocked sandwich

@ Zeeuw and Shoemakers1. That's exactly how it is, the farmer himself as a cash cow. That goes on and on. No LTO who says once is enough, let's go out on the streets, we as a sector will not let ourselves be further exploited. By the way, don't forget that our certified contractors, the Cumela, is the creator of these tractor license plates!
