ForFarmers removes biofeed production from Schalkwijk

15 May 2019 - Eric de Lijster

ForFarmers is merging the production of organic feeds on 1 July. The production of the Van Gorp Organic Feeds purchased in October 2018 will be completely transferred to Reudink in Lochem. This should make production more efficient and save costs.

ForFarmers announced the above on Wednesday 15 May. The Van Gorp Bio brand name is also disappearing from the market, in favor of the Reudink division. According to the animal feed group, the concentration is a logical step in the integration process of Van Gorp in Reudink. Initially, the sales teams were merged and now production is concentrated.

Improve feed chain
ForFarmers does not yet know what will happen to the Schalkwijk location. The work disappears for the 7 production employees. The feed company is examining whether they can be relocated within the organisation. ForFarmers is investigating company-wide options for merging factories in order to improve the feed chain and make it cheaper.
