The Belgian compound feed company Quartes and the Dutch Agrifirm are joining forces, after which Royal Agrifirm Group will eventually take over the company from Belgium. They write this in a joint press release.
According to both companies, their activities fit together well, which makes a collaboration logical. "The strategic partnership and eventual takeover by Agrifirm should lead to better future prospects being offered (by sharing knowledge and building an efficient organization) for members, customers, traders and employees.
'Benefits for customers'
Quartes has factories in Roeselare, Hasselt and Deinze and has its own supply company: Agri-Activ. The company thus fulfills a leading position in the Belgian compound feed sector. “This partnership provides strategic reinforcement for our businesses and offers several benefits to our customers, merchants and employees,” said Frederic Boone, General Manager at Quartes.
Dick Hordijk, de CEO of Royal Agrifirm Group, is also looking forward to the collaboration: "Quartes is an important player in the market and can significantly strengthen the position of us and our customers on the Belgian market." Eventually Quartes and Agri-Activ will become part of Agrifirm. "Belgium is an important country for us to invest in."
Production is divided
All current employees will continue to work at Quartes and/or Agri-Activ, according to the press release. The company's head office is expected to be located in Deinze. The compound feed production is also divided over 4 factories: Roeselare, Grobbendonk, Deinze and Hasselt.
