Agractie does not want to be a second LTO

3 October 2019 - Anne Jan Doorn - 20 comments

Parties that took part in the action of 1 October are going their own way. Stichting Agractie does not want to be a second LTO Netherlands, but a decisive advocate. However, the foundation consciously distances itself from the plans to block Schiphol, for example.

Bart Kemp, the chairman of the Foundation Agraction, is satisfied with how the protest of Tuesday 1 October went and wants to maintain the attention that farmers have received for a while. "It's all over the world. There was one article in the New York Times that well captured the essence of our protest. That's great and puts extra pressure on Dutch politics."

But, what next? "A package of measures has been handed over, in which we have set a response period of 14 days. We hope that this will be taken seriously in The Hague. However, we have not yet made any preparations for a similar protest. However, if no results are achieved, then change this."

More decisive than LTO Netherlands
Kemp wants to be a permanent, active advocate with Agractie. "We want to be a more decisive advocate than LTO Nederland is. That has now become a bureaucratic organization with little clout. That organization also receives less and less confidence from the farmers. We switch much faster and will not shy away from clear statements." Agractie must, on the one hand, discuss the content of the various files with the ministry and, on the other, denounce current affairs.

He is clear about the end of the collaboration with Farmers Defense Force: "We have worked well together and achieved a historic result, but now we are each going our own way. This was also discussed in board meetings before the October 1 protest. As Agractie, we first want to wait for the reaction of politicians before we take further actions," said Kemp.

'Don't want to lose citizens'
"That is why for now we consciously distance ourselves from actions such as blocking highways, distribution centers or Schiphol. Not that we disapprove of this, but we only want to take actions with the public in mind. Agractie will therefore never cooperate in a blockade of Schiphol", Kemp continues.

Farmers Defense Force is now continuing on its own with the organization of a second action. The party is also working on cooperation in other countries. At the moment, for example, protest actions by farmers are taking place in Germany. Mark van den Oever of Farmers Defense Force indicates that it may be possible to work together to organize protests in Europe on the same day.

I get it, nobody wants to be a second LTO. that's so sad right there. professional administrators who are still sitting around the table today to arrive at a nitrogen deal. have already indicated that they want to shrink, but are still discussing how much.
they sell the farmer's soul for the umpteenth time.

and then also the soul of the farmer who is not a member at all. and that's more than there are members.

if you have a good story and it is simply organized, the club will have more members than LTO within a week. then the LTO directors can serve the coffee for the real farmers at the next protests

I doubt whether a new proganda machine like LTO will help. The citizen is not crazy and will not be sold (sprayed) tubers for lemons.
JH 3 October 2019
Well very handy when the citizens are not crazy. Buy them organic tubers anyway. Where there is demand, supply will follow. Seems to me a lot fairer than left-wing patrons steeped in law and regulation...

Don't let yourself be swept up in the reeds,
politics MUST act on the basis of healthy
common sense, but especially on facts.
And not based on emotion or political correctness.
There is not too much farming or animal husbandry, it is a
flourishing sector, important for the country, the economy
and the export.

Farmers of the Netherlands; don't be fooled by our minister of agriculture.!!! She has also drowned the fishermen by simply declaring that she has to dance to the tune of Brussels. If she had really had balls she would have said to reimburse the fishermen's investments, and deduct that money from the contribution to the redundant EU In 40-45 the Netherlands was occupied by the Germans, and immediately after that war the Netherlands is occupied by the EU with a never-stop regulation machine; there is just no more fighting with weapons; while the agricultural sector is exploited.
Organizations such as LTO and Cumela are nothing but co-talkers.!!!
It is therefore high time for an organization with only (highly skilled farmers or people who can articulate their ideals) with a listening ear and solution-oriented ideas for the Dutch peasantry.

Let me start by saying that I hope many will remain, but in a different way, smaller and more for the old-fashioned farmland. With many meadow birds, a lot of diversity of herbs and with an eye for the environment.
If you are sensible you know that the livestock (cows, pigs and chickens) will have to shrink.
If the farmers here say that the supermarkets should only sell their products and that the citizens should only buy Dutch products and the citizens do that, what will happen if the same happens abroad? No foreigner will buy Dutch products anymore. The Dutch peasantry could shrink by 95%.
Abroad, less pollution per surface area (less nitrogen, less methane)
So gentlemen farmers first realistic and switch to ecological, logical anyway.

Hi Jos,
I'm glad you're thinking along so well.
I understand that you want to go back in time a bit, and that it has to be on a smaller scale. More biodiversity
So do you put your hand in your own bosom? In concrete terms: demolish your house and restore the land to its original state (forest or agricultural land).
When you're done with that, you can respond again. Good luck

Jos would like to go back to the time when only 3 billion people needed food and where 50% of their income went to food.
The farmer is god 4 October 2019
The government is democratically elected, farmers want as much money as possible.

Can't talk to those guys Jos, don't worry, the market regulates itself. After all, the government is stronger than a handful of screamers

It all seems a bit obscure. Arjan Schuiling steps down from the board and becomes a member of LTO-Noord (who the F... ).
Agractie appears to have different views as FDF.
Not good for our harmony and that was the beauty of October 1st.
Drent 4 October 2019
this action was not about money but rules and laws. and Jos it is logical that there is less nitrogen per surface area abroad, nowhere in the world is the yield per ha as high as here, so if you look at it per kg of product, it remains to be seen if we do use more nitrogen and resources than the rest

BB also make this part of the forum only accessible to registered customers, then we will lose a lot of these brawlers here.

What's wrong (frog jumps out of the wheelbarrow) with this healthy discussion?
Willem 4 October 2019
So, now after a successful united action, rolling on the street again. We don't even need our political enemies anymore, we do throw in our glasses ourselves.
Due to the division, we make it very easy for politicians to sideline the various advocates

The standard of living in the west has improved so much in the last 50 years among citizens and also among farmers.
More income is needed for this, the salary of the citizen is slowly increasing, the farmer must also have more income.
In agriculture this leads to an increase in scale, with livestock farmers there are restrictive measures for the numbers of animals and in arable farming there are fewer because the large buy the small.
This state of affairs cannot be stopped, organic or standard scaling up is necessary. Jos shrinkage is less income.

Hi Jos
You want the farmers in the Ot en Sien era to go back But the farmers also have a family that wants to participate in modern times, so also benefit from all the luxury of today I would like to keep less livestock, but I must have at least an average income for all the hours I put into it and the risks that I and my family run.
It seems that you as a citizen want to have everything without making any sacrifices yourself. Just look at the traffic commuting to work you can also go by bicycle or public transport but you are too lazy to put in the effort and improve the world and start with yourself Start with a cycling holiday and cycle to work you pay half your gross salary to your fellow human beings, you want to oblige us to do that too
Yes but 4 October 2019
Dear Father,

I get that. However, the costs of this spontaneously arising 'ecopanic' should not be borne by the citizen either. If the farmer has to wriggle through all kinds of twists and turns to produce, then the farmer ultimately has to ask for more money for his product. (If this is not possible, too much will remain on the bow!) This also does not benefit the citizen.

This whole 'ecopanic' is there to transfer the costs of the climate transition to the citizen and small-scale entrepreneur, such as the farmer, so that big capital can continue with its practices.

Shell (which encourages people to refuel CO2 neutral) could easily replant the entire Amazon, I mean what are we talking about
sweetie 4 October 2019
Not all citizens are lumped together. Sat people who stand behind the farmers.
