The province of Groningen is making €410.000 available to young farmers who want to make sustainable investments in their company. The scheme will be drawn up for the fifth time between December 2, 2019 to February 7, 2020.
In the context of the Young Farmers Scheme €410.000 has been made available by the province of Groningen for farmers under the age of 40 who want to invest in making the company more sustainable. Half of this amount is financed by the European Union. This scheme is mainly intended for the purchase of modern installations and machines, so that young farmers can contribute to the environment and animal welfare, among other things. The subsidy scheme is open from December 2 to February 7.
'It's a helping hand'
"Young farmers are often financially tight, because they have just taken over the company or because they are in this process. This money is therefore intended as a helping hand in the purchase of modern and sustainable installations and/or machines." the province said in a press release. "This does concern innovative products. Investments to increase a company's profits or goods that are already present in the company are not eligible."
