The Dutch collaborative platform JoinData joins forces with Agrirouter, a German data exchange platform of a group of machine builders. The aim of the 2 parties is to exchange data 'cross-border' and to represent the entire agricultural chain.
The collaboration is not exclusive, as the 2 parties advocate open data exchange platforms. It does mean that almost the entire food and agri chain is reached. This is because Agrirouter is the primary platform for data exchange in arable farming, while JoinData initially focused on the dairy and financial sector.
'Need for international tools'
According to Johannes Sonnen, the Product Manager at DKE Agrirouter, the modern agricultural sector needs internationally oriented tools. “In the future, data exchange will become part of everyday agricultural life. This collaboration is an important step towards achieving the great goal of data exchange along the entire agricultural chain.”
“JoinData started in the dairy and financial sector and expanded into arable farming. The next step is to expand globally. We believe the fastest and best way to achieve this is by partnering with platforms with similar beliefs and goals," said Sener Celik, the director of JoinData.
partnership
JoinData is a non-profit cooperative founded by LTO Nederland, Agrifirm, CRV, FrieslandCampina, Rabobank and EDI-Circle. Recently also have Lely, Nedap, Cosun and Avebe joined. JoinData manages the exchange of data between dairy farmers and the suppliers of applications that link and use data.
