Dirk Duijzer new figurehead Agri&Food

Dirk Duijzer will be the new figurehead of the Agri&Food Top Sector. The former director of LTO Nederland and Rabobank Food & Agri succeeds Aalt Dijkhuizen, who has held the position for 5 years.

The appointment by Mona Keijzer, State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate, will take effect on January 1, 2020. The Agri&Food top sector is 1 of the 9 top sectors set up by the government, where the Dutch business community and knowledge institutions contribute to the competitive position of the Netherlands on the global market. 

Duijzer, who has been Director of Governance and Cooperatives at Rabobank Nederland since 2011, addresses the collaboration within the top sectors regarding the challenges "which we face as a society." In particular, he refers to "the climate neutral and circular production of sufficient healthy, safe and sustainable food for everyone within the ecological limits of our planet."

Emphasis on innovative strength
Duijzer wants to make a major contribution to solving these issues, both in the Netherlands and abroad, through intensive collaboration between the business community, the government and the knowledge institutions. His predecessor Dijkhuizen emphasized the innovative strength of the sector, international cooperation and export. He promoted collaboration between the top sectors to contribute to solving the world food issue through high-tech solutions.
