Infoplaza, the company behind Buienalarm and Weerplaza, is taking over Weeronline with immediate effect. With the acquisition of Weeronline, Infoplaza will become - in its own words - the largest weather platform in the Benelux.
Every month, more than 10 million people and companies use the weather reports on the various Infoplaza sites and apps. In addition, Infoplaza provides about 90% of the Dutch media with weather information.
'Making platforms more powerful'
"The acquisition of Weeronline is an important strategic step in realizing the ambitions. Weeronline has a user-friendly site and clear apps. Infoplaza has advanced weather technology. We want to combine these components and thus make the platforms even more powerful," says René Westening , co-founder and director of Infoplaza.
It has not been disclosed how much Infoplaza pays for Weeronline. It is clear that investment company Bolster has provided financial support in the acquisition of Weeronline. In return, the company will receive a 42,5% interest in Infoplaza.
Agroweer works together with Infoplaza
Also Agroweather, the leading weather platform for agricultural entrepreneurs on Boerenbusiness, Is last year entered into a partnership with Infoplaza. Agroweer provides specific weather data and agricultural advice for each plot; examples of this are the effect of the spraying, the disease pressure in a crop and the effectiveness of various activities such as spreading fertilizer or ensiling grass. All data is given for both current and upcoming weather conditions.
