Boerenbusiness presents the Agribusiness Award for the second time this year. The price with which special achievements in the agricultural chain are put in the spotlight. One of the nominees for 2019 is Agrisyst with the Feed Conversion Monitor. How are they doing now a year later?
One year after registering for the Boerenbusiness Agribusiness Award Van Dijk looks back positively on the adventure. "It was a great experience for us. You are involved in customer contact in your daily work, but presenting your product in this way, in front of a jury and on video, that was something new for us. The communication about the Award and a video in 's studio Boerenbusiness certainly helped in terms of communication."
FeedConversionMonitor unburdens
AgriSyst is a data-driven company that offers solutions and software to entrepreneurs in pig farming. "We notice in our business that most pig farmers are still hesitant to invest in this area," says director Twan van Dijk in his motivation to compete for the Award. "Smart farming is important for future-proof pig farming."
With the Feed Conversion Monitor, Agrisyst relieves pig farmers by automatically collecting and processing growth and feed data from various systems available in the market. And if desired, including feed costs, Van Dijk adds.
Digital Age
Despite a special year, Van Dijk is positive. "The Feed Conversion Monitor is now being used by more and more companies at home and abroad. Everyone has been affected by the corona outbreak, including us. In the agricultural world we are used to a lot of personal contact with customers. We flew into the digital age with a rocket and that makes it more difficult to get in touch with new customers, but we can't complain, we are still growing as a company."
Van Dijk certainly does not regret his application for the Award. "We received a lot of reactions, especially in the run-up to the award ceremony. By participating you put yourself on the map as an innovative company and you are much more aware of presenting your product."
Van Dijk also advises other companies to register: "We have experienced the process as a professional, fun and meaningful event for us. Business comes out of that, but that was not the most important goal for us. contact with other innovative companies is very rewarding. You can learn from each other and it is interesting to see how companies in other sectors approach it."
