Lamb Weston/Meijer announced on September 1 that Marc Schroeder will start as CEO of the company from January 1, 2021. He succeeds Bas Alblas, who will step down from 1 November 2020.
In recent years, Schroeder has worked for foreign multinationals such as Procter & Gamble (household and personal care products) and PepsiCo. He also held various leadership positions at these companies. In these positions he has worked and lived in the Netherlands, Russia, the United States and recently Switzerland. "His broad expertise and international experience in both developed and emerging markets will be an asset to Lamb Weston/Meijer," the company said in a press release.
Schroeder will replace the current CEO, Bas Alblas. who gave early this year to leave as CEO as of November 1, 2020. Lamb Weston/Meijer is the European branch of the American company Lamb Weston and the organization serves markets in the European Union, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and Brazil. It operates 6 factories: 4 in the Netherlands, 1 in the United Kingdom and 1 in Austria.
