Hans Meeuwis will be the new CEO of food group Royal Cosun. He succeeds Albert Markusse, who will leave on June 1, 2021. Meeuwis (54) is well acquainted with the cooperative business community, because he comes from dairy group Royal FrieslandCampina.
Cosun announced this on Monday morning. Meeuwis is now president of the Business Group Dairy Essentials at FrieslandCampina and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. "We are very pleased to welcome Hans Meeuwis to Cosun," said Dirk de Lugt, Chairman of Cosun's Board of Directors, in the statement. "Hans has an excellent track record with a listed organization and with a cooperative."
According to De Lugt, Meeuwis brings a wealth of experience, which is "instrumental to continue the deployed strategy, aimed at further growth and innovation in plant-based solutions for food for humans and animals, biobased non-food applications and green energy. van Hans Meeuwis will accelerate the implementation of our vision and is well positioned to successfully lead the next chapter in Cosun's history."
Hans Meeuwis studied chemistry at Radboud University Nijmegen. He worked for DSM for over 15 years. He has been working for FrieslandCampina since 2014.
