Jan Cees Vogelaar will be on the JA21 list for the parliamentary elections to be held in March. Vogelaar must become the agricultural figurehead within the newly founded party.
JA21 was recently founded by Annabel Nanninga and Joost Eerdmans who, like Vogelaar, were on the Forum for Democracy electoral list. Due to internal vicissitudes, that party fell apart at the end of November. JA21 claims to be the right answer for the political ideals of a broad group of citizens. In its own words, the party can be seen as a conservative-liberal and focuses mainly on voters outside the Randstad, because the Netherlands is larger.
In a press statement, Vogelaar states that he is fighting for farmers' interests and the reduction of pointless regulatory pressure and paper tigers. It is not yet known where Vogelaar will be on the electoral list. In a poll by Maurice de Hond, in mid-December, JA21 came out with 1 seat.
