Hans Huijbers has joined the management team of the Belgian cattle slaughterhouse Adriaens. There he will maintain contacts with the livestock farmers and supervise the integration of the company within Vion.
Huijbers, former chairman of ZLTO, resigned from Vion's Supervisory Board in the middle of last year, the meat company reported in a statement on Thursday (February 18). He spent 11 years on the board that oversees the policy of Vion's board of directors, including a stint as chairman.
Active in agribusiness
The Brabant dairy farmer is now also actively working in agribusiness at Adriaens. "In recent months, he has been preparing the acquisition of Adriaens. His experience in the food and agri sector has been of undeniable value," said Ronald Lotgerink, CEO of Vion, in the statement.
Vion also announces that the acquisition of Adriaens has been fully completed. “We can now start our phased approach to integrate the company into the Vion Food Group, together with our Belgian organization and local talent. We will work together to build trust in the market,” said Lotgerink. With the reinforcement of the beef branch in Belgium, Vion will get a better spread of work for its customers in Western Europe, explains David de Camp, COO Beef at Vion.
