Code Orange, which is participating in the elections for the first time, wants to cut up the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. There should be a ministry only for agriculture and fisheries.
Party leader Richard de Mos: "Such a divided Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries should prevent the last farmers and fishermen from being found in a museum."
'We destroy the landscape'
Code Orange believes that agricultural lands are 'seriously threatened' by immigration, solar parks and windmills. "We are destroying our landscape and the associated peasantry. A ministry that focuses only on agriculture and fisheries must protect agricultural and fishing grounds and purely stand up for the interests of farmers and fishermen."
"The continued population growth has meant that many political parties, including the CDA, are sacrificing agricultural land on the drawing board to build 1 million houses. And that is unacceptable," says Code Oranje.
