A hack at transport company Bakker Logistiek from Zeewolde has led to empty shelves at several stores. The hack has now been resolved.
Last Thursday (April 8), Bakker Logistiek confirmed that it had been hacked and that the warehouse automation system was not working as a result. As a result, the cheese deliveries were halted for a total of 3 days.
The problems with the computer system have now been resolved and the company has reported it to the police, according to the Flevopost. "At the moment we are working on all start-up protocols. We expect all problems in the supply chain to be solved in the coming days," the director of the transport company said.
Empty shelves
The hack has resulted in empty cheese shelves at Albert Heijn. The supermarket chain reported the following: "Due to a logistical disruption, there is limited availability on the pre-packaged cheese. The logistics service provider is working with all its might to solve the problem as quickly as possible and to get availability back in order quickly."
Jumbo, also a customer of Bakker Logistiek, was less bothered by empty shelves and could still deliver most items, because the company maintains a stock of cheese itself.
