The BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB) reports the first political success. As a result of her tweet about foreign butter in the company restaurant of the House of Representatives, it has been decided to only buy Dutch butter from now on. That is what MP Caroline van der Plas tweeted.
Dutch butter in the canteen of the Chamber is a prelude to achieving 1 of the BBB's goals. "Our election program states that we want all canteens and company restaurants in government buildings - where possible - to offer only Dutch products. And to promote these products as such as local food from Dutch soil," said Van der Plas when asked.
"With this, the government supports our own food makers and sets a good example for society by choosing local products. We see the Netherlands as local. If canteens and company restaurants want to go even further by offering regional products, that is of course very nice."

According to CDA MP Jaco Geurts, the switch to Dutch butter was made as a result of a CDA motion to promote the supply of Dutch (regional) products in the restaurants of the House of Representatives. However, judging by Van der Plas' response, the power of social media is sometimes greater than that of a parliamentary motion.
Van der Plas was a guest at last week BoerenBusiness TV. In the interview, the politician talks about the extremely hectic first weeks in The Hague and what she wants to achieve in the next 4 years. In any case, she believes that 'how we deal with green space' must be considered. "We are very concerned that everything is being dumped in the countryside: homes, mega-solar parks, wind farms, data centers, distribution boxes.
