Food group Royal Avebe has found the new chairman and CEO in David Fousert. Fousert is making the switch from feed to food, because he is currently chief operating officer of ForFarmers. As of 1 September, he will succeed the current CEO Bert Jansen, who will say goodbye to Avebe after 13 years.
The cooperative potato starch group announced this on Tuesday 18 May. Fousert has been employed by ForFarmers for just under 2,5 years, after having made a fairly long career of 13 years at the American food giant Cargill. At ForFarmers, Fousert is in charge of several international divisions and the marketing, nutrition, strategy and innovation group units.
Reduce environmental impact
According to Avebe, Fousert will use his experience to further implement the strategic course to realize added value for members, customers and employees. Innovation and sustainability are a common thread through the strategy, according to Avebe. Marijke Folkers - in 't Hout, chairman of the supervisory board, said in the statement: "We are ambitious and want to grow in value while reducing our impact on the environment."
Under the leadership of Jansen, Avebe has developed into a financially strong company, according to the statement. "We are extremely grateful to Bert Jansen for his enormous commitment, involvement and the way in which he has turned Avebe into an innovative, future-oriented cooperative," concludes Folkers.
