Animo Agribusiness Award shows great innovative strength

17 September 2021 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

The innovative power of Dutch agribusiness cannot be distracted by crises such as the corona pandemic or the nitrogen dossier. Boerenbusiness has received many registrations for the annual Agribusiness Awards† The prize for innovative products or services with financial benefits for the farmer.

In total, the editors of Boerenbusiness 26 applications are allowed to receive from companies and organizations that compete with their product or service for this recognition for their achievement. That is 1 less than last year. Boerenbusiness is very pleased with the number and quality of the submissions, says editor-in-chief Eric de Lijster. "The agricultural sector has a lot to choose from during this period. It is great to see that companies are very inventive in creating innovative solutions that can benefit the farmer."

Solution-oriented
It is precisely this creativity and ingenuity that is why Boerenbusiness created the Award. It shows the resilience of the sector and provides inspiration and motivation for others to get started as well. For example, innovations in the field of improving the sustainability of crops or limiting nitrogen emissions can often be found in the registrations.

Now that the registration period is closed, it is to the independent jury led by Aalt Dijkhuizen to choose the nominees. "Once again we see a large number of applications of excellent quality. It is good to see that the agricultural and food sector continues to innovate. An interesting job for the jury to determine the winner," says Dijkhuizen.

Pitching
The jury will select 3 to 5 finalists from the entries. These finalists will be announced in early November. The nominees will have the opportunity to personally explain their submission to the jury. After these presentations, the jury finally takes the plunge and chooses the winner. The Agribusiness Award will be presented on Thursday 25 November at the head office of ABN Amro in Amsterdam. The previous winners of the Award are CowManager (2019) in Limagrain Netherlands (2020)
