Growers caught with illegal seed potatoes

Two arable farmers from Drenthe and North Holland were caught using illegal seed potatoes. The NVWA confirms that the two came across the light during random checks.

Extra hunt for illegal seed potatoes

The growers had seed potatoes in their possession that had not been approved by the NAK and were fined for this. At the company in Drenthe, 50 tons of illegal seed potatoes are involved. The authority found 5 tons at the company in the Opperdoes area (North Holland), which is under stricter supervision.

Besides these cases, the NVWA has not identified any other cases of illegal seed potatoes. For the offenders, it is the first time that they have committed such a transgression. The potatoes lose their status as seed potatoes. This year, because of the scarcity extra hunting illegal seed potatoes.

How can illegal seed potatoes lose the status of seed potatoes

If you distribute the seed to the factories and exclude the other buyers in advance and always give 0 on the request, you get such things. Let the cause be removed and banished and not the effect. Everyone involved in the cultivation of potatoes can earn money from me, but please let the seed potatoes be offered to everyone and not explicitly reserved for only the factories.

If one does not admit that the potatoes were used for planting, then one cannot prove this. Or the potatoes had to be found in the planter.

Maybe they can first label all unapproved controllers as illegal, then they will also lose their status controller
