Planting work is done like the fire brigade throughout Northwestern Europe. This is evident from the planting progress that Aviko Potato keeps track of.
The most advanced, in week 15, are the German federal states of the Rhineland and Bavaria, where more than 80 percent of the ware potatoes are in the ground. The northern French chip potato growing area of Picardy is also nearing the end. The British could also proceed energetically, because almost 70 percent would have been planted there.
Of the Belgians, the Flemish are slightly further, almost 60 percent, with legs than the Walloons, almost 50 percent. In the Netherlands, South Holland is in the lead, with almost 80 percent in the ground. That province is followed by the Limburg/German border with about 75 percent. The conditions in East Flevoland and North Holland were also favourable, because almost 70 percent was planted there.
Progress is head and shoulders above the years 2015 and 2016, but is not everywhere further than in 2014.
