Half year of increases

Almost 4 million tons of potatoes processed

19 May 2017 - Clarisse van der Woude

Once again, the potato processing industry has processed more potatoes than in the same period last year. Between May 2016 and April 2017, this is 200.000 tons more than the year before.

Monthly processing is now 6 months in a row higher than in the same months of 2016. In April, the processing figure was 334.200 tons.

Will a new record be set?

That is slightly higher than last year in March. It is mainly the months before that that show large increases.

A new record?
Over the past 12 months, the figure comes out at 3.982.200 tons of raw material processed into product. This brings the 4 million into the picture: a new record.
