The monthly potato processing figures each have a refrain this season. As a result, the shine of the Dutch chip maker's performance seems to have faded. Still, the performance is something to write home about.
Today, July 21, the Arable Farming Trade Organization (BO) announced the figures for potato processing in the month of June. Based on preliminary information, the processing amounts to 360.100 tons of potatoes into potato products. In the month of June the processing was not yet that high. Moreover, it is the second highest processing of potatoes in the month ever. The month of March 2017 preceded June 2017 with 365.000 tons processed.
Return above 50%
The total volume processed in the months January to June amounts to 2.089.200 tons. In the past 12 months, that volume was 4.007.800 tons. Of the processed volume in June, 34,5% came from imported potatoes. 162.800 tons of pre-fried products were produced and 31.600 tons of other products. This produces a return of 54%.
In the comparable period last year, 339.800 tons of potatoes were processed, with a processing efficiency of 60%. Then 32,8% came from imported potatoes.
