Processing takes a step back, but record remains

With the release of the most recent potato processing figures, the balance can be drawn up. In the month of July, gas was clearly cut back, which means that the difference with the month of June is large.

Based on provisional figures, the processing figure for potatoes for the month of July appears to be 281.800 tons. Compared to the same period in 2016, this is a decrease of 3.600 tons, or 1,26% lower.

Increase is clearly visible
A total of 2016 tons of potatoes were processed over the period from August 2017 to July 4.004.200. That was 2016 tons of potatoes in the same period in 3.864.400. This means that 3,6% more potatoes have been processed.

It is the first season in which Dutch industries have processed more than 4 million tons of potatoes. Of this, 1.585.900 tonnes came from imports. That is 39,6% of the total number. In July 2017, the import figure was 134.500 tons.

The processing efficiency is 54,5%. The volume of pre-baked product was 131.400 tons. In addition, 22.400 tons have been processed into other products.
