With the addition of Cosun and Avebe to the Coöperatie Datahub and the expansion of Agrifirm's arable farming activities, a broad data platform is being created in the agricultural sector in the Netherlands.
FrieslandCampina, CRV and Agrifirm started the SmartDairyFarming foundation in 2016. With this, the parties want to speed up the use of data on the farm. In the spring of 2017, LTO and EDI-Circle joined and the Coöperatie Datahub was founded at the beginning of August. From the start, the plan has been to position the Cooperative broadly within the agricultural sector.
Broad platform for agricultural sector
The entry of Cosun and Avebe will create a broad platform for sharing data in the Dutch agricultural sector. "With this we offer members, farmers, data suppliers and application builders 1 reliable infrastructure for financial and technical data of dairy farming and arable farming activities", says Ton Loman, chairman of Coöperatie Datahub.
It is irrelevant that the types of data flows and applications in arable farming are different from those in the dairy sector. "When it comes to sharing data, the position of the arable farmer does not differ from that of the livestock farmer. The entrepreneur remains in control when it comes to his company data and therefore determines who may use his data for what purpose."
New name
The expansion also includes a new name. Cooperative Datahub is now called JoinData. The first connections for the platform will be realized at the beginning of 2018. JoinData continues to build on that basis and encourages companies to use the available data to develop innovative applications (apps) that allow farmers to manage their business more effectively.
“Our goal is for data within the agricultural sector to be actively shared and to drive innovations, resulting in improved performance in terms of sustainability, profitability and well-being,” says Sener Celik, Manager JoinData.

Someone with a huge buffer, who is seen as a thick neck, because he is head and shoulders above average. Come on guys, the past few years have been great for building up a huge buffer. If you haven't, you have a huge problem.

No absolutely not. A fat-neck is someone like you, who, according to him, knows everything better than the others, he has a huge buffer, but in reality, he knows nothing and does not have enough money to pay the bill!

As a rule, a small farmer has a lot of liquid assets.
