In recent months, European French fries makers have taken over the world market. New Zealand also managed to grow, while the United States (US), Canada and China lost their share.
The world trade of European fries (largely fried in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and France) grew by 1% (in dollars) until October 11,6. European chip factories managed to ship more fries to the Asia-Pacific region. This cost the Americans part of their sales. The Philippines in particular are showing explosive growth in their imports. Indonesia and Vietnam also bought more fries.
Largest supplier
We have market dominance in the rest of Europe and Africa and we are the largest supplier in the Middle East. With the latter we gained market share in North America, and this will also be maintained. This is due to the economic state of the country and its openness to tourism, but the Saudis themselves have a preference for American products.
More terrain in South America
Despite the greater distance and the competition from Argentinian fries, European producers are increasingly gaining ground in South America. This also applies to Central America. In the Caribbean, European fries are leading.
