Big plus on stock exchange listing

Aviko af land pool holds up well

19 December 2017 - Niels van der Boom - 21 comments

The realized payout price for the ex-land pool of Aviko Potato is holding up well in this difficult market. The potato growers are paid a price for potatoes delivered between weeks 34 and 44, which is well above the level of the stock exchange quotes.

The payout price for the 2017 harvest is €7,29 per 100 kilos for delivery between week 36 and week 44. Anyone who delivered in week 34 will receive a bonus of €0,50 per 100 kilos. For delivery in week 35, that is still €0,25. Growers who delivered after week 44, and who temporarily stored the potatoes, receive a storage allowance.

Different price structure
The above price applies to the Innovator, Agria, Zorba, Miranda, Victoria and Lady Amarilla varieties. The Fontane potato variety has a price of €0,50 per 100 kilos lower. The price structure is therefore slightly different than in previous years. Then there was the AA group, which included Innovator, Agria and Zorba, and the other varieties. In addition to Fontane, Miranda and Victoria were also included.

Not the worst result
The off-land pool was the best in 2016 result since its inception in 2012. The price range then varied between €16 and €17 per 100 kilos. Harvest 2017 is not the lowest price in Arctic history. In 2014, a price range of €4,60 to €5,30 per 100 kilos was paid out.

The average stock exchange listing in Emmeloord recorded an average result of € 4,50 per 100 kilos in the ex-land period. In those weeks, Belgapom noted an average price of €4,24 per 100 kilos. This makes the pool a relatively large plus on top of the daily price.

Free market price development during the Aviko Potato's ex-land period.More potatoes required
The Aviko ex-land pool has also had to deal with the large potato harvest, which is 20% above 2016. In addition, the potatoes were much coarser than average. On the other hand, processing has also increased. In addition to the extensive processing capacity, Aviko mentions the low submerged weight of the potatoes. As a result, more product is needed. Due to storage problems, there is more supply of potatoes for the short term.

Grower needs
The cultivation area for the land potatoes extends from the sandy soils in the south-east to the north-east of the Netherlands. These potatoes are less suitable for long storage. Moreover, participants do not always have a suitable potato storage facility for long-term storage.

According to Aviko, the volume in the pool has grown by more than 50%, partly due to the record high yield. According to the potato growers' committee, it is also a signal that growers need the ex-farm pool. Aviko Potato is the only potato processor in the Netherlands that offers an ex-country pool.

They are looking for expansion in the sandhare area.
They find it difficult to pay less than the starch potatoes, but they do take them away from the potatoes supplied by the field staff in the clay areas.

No, those 3 cents that you could get free will make you rich. Provided you could get cars at all! Are still free off land potatoes in the ground.

At Aviko, they give away all the money to those consumption growers. Worthless for the beet price

beet farmer probably still has to harvest. The surcharge won't be high anyway because so many tons are harvested

Good job. I am jealous of the result, not of the risk and everything around it.

Group Aviko afland was lucky with an unnecessarily high quotation in the afland period in combination with a purchase agreement and settlement on quotation.

The ex-land pool is a pre-sale pool. According to the ATC, the majority of the pool volume had already been sold before the harvesting took place.

Then there was still a vote (see TM progress) and that explains the neat result.

Coincidentally, I know your ex-wife and your new girlfriend doesn't like it anymore either. Good luck with your great big company.

@bla bla, yes women get a kick out of big huh?

I'm glad I'm a contract slave, I was able to keep my eyes dry this autumn, many free growers can't do that, but he also has more bacon on the ribs I think

Well worth 7000 euros per ha with a price of 7 euros, that is 100 tons net per ha and that on average over 400 ha.

The pole afland is worth their gold, then you switch off the market forces. And again a new guarantee for a lot of land nature. for 18

Despite all the good intentions with a pool, in a disguised way they take care of themselves first and then they pay out what they have left. Yes, it is very easy to keep your head above water. And some farmers also need someone else to do the trade. They cannot sell themselves.
