Boerenbusiness follows 10 lots Innovator

De Boerenbusiness Crop tour will start on 1 June 2018. It is the first edition of the tour along 10 potato plots with the Innovator variety. The aim is to visualize the growing season of the potatoes.

The potato plots are spread over the Netherlands and are all equipped with weather stations. In addition to those weather stations, drones are also used to visualize the growing season of the Innovators as accurately as possible.

Boerenbusiness has a special 'crop tour page' designed. On this page, all information from the weather posts on the fields is displayed live/real-time. The weather posts indicate, for example, how many millimeters of precipitation have fallen, what the temperature is and what the humidity is.

De Boerenbusiness Croptour is based on the international 'Croptours' and is now being introduced in the Netherlands for the first time. The information about the growth developments of the Innovators will Boerenbusiness to give farmers a clear picture of the development of the potatoes.

As mentioned earlier, the plots are spread across the Netherlands. This is to be able to make a good comparison between the different regions. Each plot has its own characteristics and properties. On the crop tour page, soil type, pre-fruit, planting distance and tillage are also mapped, using a so-called 'plot passport'.

Closure at Agrotechniek Holland
The Crop Tour will be concluded at Agro Techniek Holland, which will take place on September 15, 2018 in Biddinghuizen. A seminar will also be held here. In addition, attention is also paid to the course of the Crop Tour and a yield forecast will be made based on the data of the plots.
