The first published trial harvesting figures from Aviko Potato show a picture that is in line with expectations: few kilograms and a particularly high underwater weight (OWG). The yield has increased slightly since the start of the trial harvesting.
Aviko Potato started in week 30 with the first trial harvesting. Unfortunately, since last year it no longer splits them into individual varieties. These are Fontane, Agria, Innovator and Victoria. In week 30, an average yield of 25 tons per hectare was measured, a record low. In 1 week, almost 10 tons were added, so that the graph now follows the line of 2013 and 2015.
The trial harvesting figures started last year with an average yield of 35 tons. A jump is also noticeable in the percentage 50 millimeters upwards. In week 30 it came to 30%. It is now 50%, which is the same as in 2015.
Aging
The underwater weight is unprecedented this year. No surprise for those who have tried harvesting themselves. It is now 40 grams for the 400 millimeters upwards. This means that the crops are about 1 month ahead of other years, which shows that many fields are already very far in their development. In 2014 the owg was around 375 grams, which was then the highest measured in week 31.
In week 31, parcels participating in the Boerenbusiness Crop tour for the first time sampled† The average here was 44,2 tons per hectare. However, the spread is large at 44 tons. This ranges from 67 tons (Noordoostpolder) to 23 tons (Zeeland). The underwater weight is not measured here.
