In the era of the euro, so much money has never been paid for early potatoes. An extreme movement in price. This went from just €1 for Bintje and a maximum of €8 for Fontane old harvest (July 1, 2018) to €25 to €30 new harvest (August 07, 2018).

In the 1976 harvest year, a price of €35 (converted to 33 guilders or 76 Belgian francs) was set for Bintje (380 millimeters upwards) in the Flevopolder. It is therefore clear that the potato sector has entered a very special season (especially now that the first quotations have been announced).
