Clarebout wants to build factory in Wallonia

Clarebout has indicated that it wants to build a new processing plant in Frameries (Wallonia). The company aims to produce 2.300 tons of French fries and 500 tons of other potato products daily in the new factory.

The Walloon newspaper LaProvince writes that there will be a new factory, which will create hundreds of jobs. Clarebout says he will provide more explanation on Monday, January 15. Clarebout already has a warehouse in Frameries. This is also expected to be expanded.

Growing potato processing
The other locations of the potato processor Clarebout are located in Nieuwkerke and Waasten (Flanders). The factory to be built shows good expectations for potato cultivation and fits in with the growth of potato processors show.

The new factory is located further from the Netherlands and closer to France. Is it a sign that the Belgian potato processor is increasingly focusing on the French backyard? That question remains unanswered for the time being.
