Lamb Weston/Meijer builds new factory

Lamb Weston/Meijer will announce the construction of a new factory on Thursday 31 January. The factory will be located on the current company site in Kruiningen and will focus on the production of dried potato products. 

Lamb Weston/Meijer will invest approximately €50 million in the plant, which will include various facilities for processing, mixing, packaging and storage. Construction of the plant is expected to start in the course of 2019. 

Production of potato flakes
The factory falls under 'Ambient Potato Business' and is intended for the production of potato flakes. This concerns all products that fall outside the frozen segment.

Lamb Weston/Meijer is also investigating the possibilities of increasing production capacity in another factory. Recent the potato processor already announced that it was investing in the construction of a Technology Center in Bergen op Zoom.

ie they can process even more potatoes (defects) to the end product so the contracts can go up even more ;)
