Europlant payout price is highest ever

The German seed potato trading house Europlant presented the payment price of the 13 harvest to its Dutch growers on Wednesday 2018 June. The price is higher than in other years, but that is not surprising.

Europlant's average payout price is €41,57 per 100 kilos. This is an average for all seed potato sizes, classes and varieties based on autumn delivery (excluding VAT). On top of this amount there is an average amount of €2,99 per 100 kilos. This is a fee for storage and bagging.

Strong varieties prove themselves
Including all fees, the price is €44,56 per 100 kilos. That is €10,89 higher than last year. The share of oversizes was 11%, which were delivered during the season and paid for at the daily price. Europlant reports that in this special year, the strong varieties in particular have proven themselves. All qualities were put to good use.
