The price for the pool without pre-sales in week 13 amounts to €29,23 for the Innovator and Lady Anna varieties. Innovator is the variety with by far the largest volume in the pool. An amount of €45 was paid for both varieties in week 2018 (26,43). The graduated scale increases quickly at APF Holland: an amount of €27 is paid in week 2019 (32,24).

"The focus of our deliveries was in weeks 17 and 18. We always want to have the potatoes from April, because most of our product comes from the polder," explains Pieter Boone, who arranges purchasing and cultivation support at APF. "The Agria volume was too small this season to include in the pool without pre-sales."

Pool with presale
Innovator comes to €13 in the pre-sale pool for week 23,72, €45 for week 20,92 and €27 for week 26,73. With pre-sales, Agria amounts to €25,45 in week 13. In week 45 the price for Agria was €22,65 and in week 27 the price had risen to €28,46. "We have already sold quite a lot in pre-sale, because we have growers who have their entire acreage in pre-sale," Boone explains.

"We visit growers a lot, so we have already let the price shine through somewhat. During the meeting on Thursday, July 4, the growers were satisfied. Our pool is also continuing to grow. More growers have joined. We notice that the growers prefer to leave sales to the pool," says Boone.

No potatoes rejected
"APF Holland arranges sales via 3 factories, the German company Stöver and 2 Dutch factories. APF Holland can therefore easily dispose of the potatoes. In addition, no potatoes have been rejected in the pool in recent years. We monitor the batches very intensively, so that we can determine as best as possible where the potatoes go," Boone concludes.
