The reduction percentage is increasing, the NAK reports. In addition to Erwinia, primary viral disease now also plays a greater role. The first seed potatoes are already being killed.
NAK reported beginning this week that the percentage of reduction has risen to 7,4%. That is still considerably less than last year, when 12,1% had already been reduced, but higher than the 5% of 2017. Erwinia remains the main reason, but primary viral disease is also mentioned as the reason. This has to do with the high lice pressure.
First seed killed
Compared to last year, mosaic is also an important cause. More than 20% was rejected because of mosaic, compared to 5% last year. The second field inspection has been done for 50%. The first 200 plots have been approved for foliage destruction. Last week the first seed potatoes were killed.
