In August this year, 345.000 tons of potatoes were processed. Such a high processing figure has not been achieved in a month since June 2018. Compared to last August, the figure is also significantly higher, when 279.600 tons were processed.

Catching up
The processing certainly shows a significant jump compared to last month. The lowest point of 268.500 tonnes was reached in July. Although the start of the processing season is poor, this new figure represents a significant boost. The fact that little has been processed in the recent period indicates that the stock of end product is limited. Catching up is therefore also necessary.

For the period September 2018 to August 2019, the total processing figure is now 3,85 million tonnes. Of the 345.000 tons, 162.400 tons were processed into pre-fried products, while 27.000 tons of other potato products were made. A relatively large part of the potatoes required came from abroad, namely 43,2%.
