Tension potato harvest gives DCA Spot listing move

It is exciting on the potato market regarding the current potato harvest. This uncertainty translates into higher prices on the physical market. As a result, the DCA Spot Notering French fries potatoes (SF) is also getting a boost.

As in previous weeks, the DCA Spot quotation for French fries potatoes (SF) also rising this week. Compared to last week, the increase is +€0,72, bringing it to €13,17. This is the highest level of the current season so far. As a result of the changeable weather in the first weeks of October, which means that the harvesting machines cannot enter the field for the harvest, physical potato prices rose. Physical potato prices are also increasing in surrounding countries.

The demand for potatoes is described as positive. And that shine also extends to the rest of the season. The early end of last harvest year and the high potato processing figures have resulted in a sharp demand for potatoes. In the first weeks of October, potatoes were removed from storage early (compared to planning) in order to continue to supply the baking ovens with raw material. The export market is also demanding.
