The DCA Spot listing for French fries has picked up again this week, after having passed a few weeks with minimal increases. Have the French fries taken stock?
The potato harvest is still not over and seems to be stranded with the finish line in sight. The estimates keep the loss of chip potatoes this season between 500.000 and 800.000 tons. Although the total harvest is larger than last year, the loss is enormous. In response, physical potato prices rose in a number of countries, although it was still too early for Belgapom and the French RNM this week. In addition, PotatoNL dropped this week by an average of €0,25 to €15,25.
