Bas Alblas steps down as CEO of LambWeston / Meijer. The CEO, who has also worked at Vion and Leerdammer Company in the past, is looking for a different balance between work and private time, according to a statement from the French fries producer.
Alblas will retire later this year. The search for a successor will start soon, the company from Kruiningen reports. LambWeston/Meijer describes Alblas as the CEO who "led the company on a path of profitable growth after more than 10 successful years." Alblas has also been chairman of the Federation of the Dutch Food Industry (FNLI) for two years now.
LambWeston / Meijer, the European branch of the American company LambWeston, serves markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and Brazil for potato products. The company operates 6 factories: 4 in the Netherlands, 1 in the United Kingdom and 1 in Austria. LambWeston / Meijer employs 1.400 people.
