Draft versions of the upcoming compensation scheme have already made their rounds in the sector. This shows that growers of chip potatoes who have suffered from the corona crisis €6 per 100 kilos compensation can receive with a maximum compensation of €150.000 per company. This has now been confirmed by RVO.

However, the scheme can only be definitively established after approval by the European Commission. That's what we're waiting for now. The scheme is only final when it is published in the Government Gazette. That would be tomorrow morning at the earliest.

For the sake of speed, entrepreneurs can register in advance in anticipation of approval. The RVO counter is open for this from today. The compensation applies to growers of potatoes that can no longer be processed into fries this season. Companies that meet the principles and really need it can register, according to LNV. As soon as the scheme has been finalized, the RVO will process submitted applications.
