Aviko Potato announced the final supplementary payment on pool potatoes for the 4 harvest on 2019 December. Since the compensation scheme for chips potatoes was used for the pool, the final result has been delayed for a while.
The Potato Growers Committee (ATC) of Aviko Potato announces that the additional payment for the potato pool without pre-sales amounts to €9,41 per tonne. This means that the final pool price for this potato pool (without pre-sales) averages €126,81 per tonne. For the pool with pre-sales, the subsequent payment amounts to €2,45 per tonne. This results in an average price of €131,23 per tonne for this pool.
These prices apply to all breeds and include the compensation contribution from the RVO scheme and the feed yield. In mid-July, Aviko announced that this year there will be 1 pool prize for all breeds. "Due to circumstances, no differences per breed are noticeable," the committee said at the time. "Race differences and quality bonuses are therefore not paid out." The storage scale for long-term storage can amount to a maximum of €50 per tonne.
Pool with presale | Week 45 | Week 13 | Week 28 |
All breeds | €112,35 per tonne | €127,41 per tonne | €149,51 per tonne |
Pool without presale | Week 45 | Week 13 | Week 28 |
All breeds | €109,76 per tonne | €124,82 per tonne | €146,92 per tonne |
Corona also affects next season
The committee announced in July that the corona crisis will also have an impact on the potato pools next season. This increases the volume. "These are existing participants who were able to grow less under contract this spring. A larger share of potatoes has therefore been put into the pool." On the other hand, it also reports that volume growth is not an ambition. That is why the committee is fairly negative for next season. The current figures regarding the area, crop growth in Europe and demand for end products are the basis for this.
