Just under 2 weeks after the use of the sprout inhibitor 1,4Sight was suspended in Germany, potato growers are allowed to use the agent again. That reports the authorization holder Dormfresh. The ban still applies to the germ inhibitor Argos oil.
On December 4, the BVL, the German consumer protection and food safety authority, banned the use of the germ-inhibiting agents 1,4Sight and Argos oil. The reason for this was the use of old hot nebulizers, which caused 2 storage sheds to go up in flames. The temporary ban was lifted again on December 16.
Label adjusted
The label has been modified. It now states that 1,4Sight may only be used in combination with an Electrofog or Synofog for the time being. Equipment with a combustion engine is not allowed. Approval holder Dormfresh is in consultation with the BVL to also allow other approval equipment. BASF markets the product in the Netherlands, among others. In Germany, Belchim Crop Protection is the party that markets the product.
