There will definitely be no restart for potato packer AC Loogman in Aalsmeer. "It concerns a relatively large building on the FloraHolland site. The machinery is also too extensive for a restart," says Sander Schouten, curator of AMS Advocaten at Food+Agribusiness.
Potato packer Loogman was already declared bankrupt by the judge on 17 November and it is now clear that a restart is also off the table. At least, for the location in Aalsmeer. Schouten writes that it is still being investigated whether a restart is possible for the Amsterdam office. This is because it is a much smaller business unit.
Inventory sold separately
The building on the FloraHolland site will be auctioned by the bank on 28 January. The inventory will be sold separately by Industrial Auctions and the online auction will end on February 3. The cause of the bankruptcy is still under investigation.
AC Loogman en Zonen was founded in 1953. The company has grown into one of the largest potato packers in the Netherlands. The building in Aalsmeer was opened in 2016.
