Pessl Instruments GmbH takes over a number of products from HZPC subsidiary Solentum BV. The companies announced this today (Thursday, April 29). As of May 1, the Solgrader and SolAntenna will be taken over by Pessl Instruments. On April 1, HZPC announced with Solentum due to disappointing speed of digitization in the agricultural sector.
Solentum was founded in 2015 to develop and market digital products and services for the agricultural sector. The Solgrader is a digital instrument with which the grower or sampler can analyze a trial harvest in the field of size grading and yield in the country. The SolAntenna collects real-time data during potato storage.
Collaboration
"Since 2019, Solentum BV and Pessl Instruments have been working together in the field of agricultural digitization," says Herman Verveld commercial director of HZPC in a press release. "Partly through this collaboration, Pessl is taking over the products SolGrader and SolAntenna from Solentum and with it future development."
The director and founder of Pessl Instruments, Gottfried Pessl is enthusiastic about the acquisition. "The SolGrader and SolAntenna from Solentum BV fit perfectly into the existing Pessl hardware and software product lines with which we offer our customers worldwide a total solution for use in the fields and storage areas".
The current director of Solentum, Egbert Bakker, will become Product-Sales Manager for the Benelux and Northern Europe at Pessl Instruments after the takeover. He will also become a product specialist for the former Solentum products.
