Last October, 353.300 tons of potatoes were processed, according to figures from the Association for the Potato Processing Industry (VAVI). This means that for the first time in two years, more than 350.000 tons have been processed and this month ranks third in terms of processing in October. The VAVI has also adjusted the processing figure for September from 343.600 tons to 347.100 tons. This breaks the record from 2019.

Of the 353.300 in October, 160.700 were processed into pre-fried fries and 28.100 tons into other products. Of the processed potatoes, 137.000 tons, or 38,8%, come from imports. The processing efficiency is 53,4%. That is 1% higher than last month, but lower than in October 2020 when the return was 55,8%.
