An average pool price of €154,25 per ton has been achieved for the Zorba and Innovator varieties, €144,25 per ton for Agria, Miranda and Victoria and €134,25 per ton for Fontane, Aviko announced yesterday (Tuesday, December 7). . Growers who delivered in week 32 will receive an early delivery premium of €40 per tonne. The average ex-land pool price over the period week 33 to week 44 therefore amounts to €142,47 per tonne. PotatoNL and Belgapom recorded an average of €138,54 and €124,55 per tonne in the same period.

Improving sentiment
Due to a relatively cold and locally wet spring, the growth of the early potatoes started later. In addition, there was a shrinkage in the European area. Corona and the associated uncertainty in sales nevertheless ensured that the pre-sale period started quietly. Sentiment improved during the summer and ultimately there was a healthy demand for potatoes, according to Aviko. The daily prices therefore remained above the contract prices. Quality problems, especially hollow, did cause additional challenges during processing in some varieties.
