The step that the Belgapom listing made last Friday to €20 for Fontane, and the rumors that Innovator was traded for €25, led many to expect that the Dutch potato listing PotatoNL could also make a significant step. A first signal was given on Friday PAT list. Not all Dutch processors are prepared to pay the higher price charged by Belgian processors.

Included price increased
With two transactions of €17,25, which were placed on the PAT list on Friday afternoon, it was clear that the quotation in the Netherlands could not go up without a fight. However, it was a great surprise to growers, among others, that the Dutch price is so reluctant to increase, as the mood is very positive. A tour in the field shows that last week a number of processors already increased their purchasing price for co-delivery kilos to €20 for Fontane, just like the Belgians.

Apparently there is another processor who can purchase potatoes cheaper from his suppliers. Growers are willing to pay for their potatoes at this price. Then it is inevitable that these must also be included in Monday's quotation.

Rearview mirror
However, on February 7, another transaction appeared on the PAT list for Fontane for €20, which is actually the daily price. The two €17,25 transactions mostly look like selling potatoes while looking in the rearview mirror.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1644246609)}}
